Who is eligible for access, and where do I register?

Access to the National Theatre Collection is available free to UK state-funded schools and Further Education Colleges by completing the registration form. Please follow the instructions provided and read, download and print for future reference the National Theatre Collection Licence/Terms of Use.

When will I receive my access details?

Due to extremely high demand for the free access to the National Theatre Collection registrations are taking around 10 working days to process. Once we have set your school up, you will receive an email notification with your access details, please be sure to check your junk for this. We appreciate your patience at this time.

How do I know if my school already has access?

If you’re not sure whether your school is already registered for the National Theatre Collection, you can find the list of registered schools here. Only one registration per school will be accepted, so please contact colleagues in your institution to discover who registered for the school, this was likely a member of SLT, or the English or drama department. Please share access details with all staff and students.

Which plays are included in the National Theatre Collection?

For the full list of titles please see here. Please note the free access is only to the two National Theatre Collections on the Drama Online platform.

How long will remote access be available?

We are pleased to confirm that remote access has been extended for the 2021-22 academic year. Should it stop and return to on campus access only we will email to let you know as soon as that has been made known.

How long will we get it free?

There is no end date to the free access for UK state schools and colleges and we expect it to continue for some time to come. You should feel confident in building the productions into your lesson plans.

I’m struggling to log in, what should I do?

To log in please go to https://www.dramaonlinelibrary.com, click log in (in the top right-hand corner of the screen) and enter the username and password that you have been emailed under ‘Access log in’.

If you are struggling to log in, please try the following to resolve:

  • Clear your cache and browsing data
  • Try a different browser
  • Copy and paste the username and password (careful not to include any blank spaces)
  • Make sure you are entering the details under ‘Access log in’ not ‘Personal log in’
  • Please do not go to ‘log in through my institution’ as this will not work

If you’re seeing a message similar to ‘Authentication failed. No IP address found for this account’, then this means the username and password have been entered incorrectly. Please ignore the IP message as no IP is required for the access. Follow the above steps to resolve.

You will know you are logged in when you see ‘Access provided by’ and then your institution name in the top right-hand corner.

What other content is available on the Drama Online platform?
